Heated FID Analyzer for Total Hydrocarbon Measurement in Live Hot and Wet Steam, Model 606

Description:

This HFID analyzer is especially designed for the measurement of total hydrocarbons in live hot and wet steam.

It comes fully equipped to be connected to the steam source via a heated sample line. A 16 ft. (5 meter) heated sample line comes standard with the analyzer.

The hydrocarbon in steam analyzer Model 606 measures the concentration of total hydrocarbons in hot and wet steam. It is based on the flame ionization detection method. By applying a high polarization voltage between the two electrodes around the flame, which is created by burning pure hydrogen in hydrocarbon-free air, an electrostatic field is generated. During this process a very small but still measureable ion-current is produced. If a gaseous hydrocarbon-sample is introduced into the flame the ion-current changes proportionally to the number of hydrocarbon-molecules which are introduced in a unit of time.

A sample pressure regulator which does not come in contact with the sample itself creates a constant backpressure towards the sample capillary. This capillary provides a steady flow of sample to the detector. This method of constant pressure regulation of hot sample gases is being successfully used by J.U.M. Engineering for over 24 years. One part of the airflow is diverted after the pressure regulator and routed through an adsorption unit where the air is being purified to then be used as burner air for the detector. A compact flow control module with miniature needle valves and precision pressure regulators allows easy and reliable optimization of the detector. The internal manifold system with automatic backpurge of the sample filter and sample line in combination with the exclusively for that purpose designed filter/valve module allow long term measurements with very low drift effects.
